HERBERT LINCK 1928-1938
Herbert Linck was born on October 28,1928. His parents were Lawrence and Cecelia. They had nine children, three boys and six girls. Herbert was born at the Linck homestead located on Linck Road off M117 in Engadine. He went to school at Engadine. At the time the school was down past the Catholic Church. His chores were farm chores. If he would have lived to be in fifth grade, Franklin Roosevelt was President then. At the time knickers and riding britches were popular in clothes style. That's what he wore, while playing marbles and reading. One of Herbert's sisters, Marie, married Lawrence Standre, had five children and lived in Naubinway, Michigan. A brother of his, David, was married and had two boys and lived in Dearborn Hts., Michigan. Herbert Linck died from a ruptured appendix at the age of ten. Even though he died, he lived through the Great Depression. In memory of Herbert Linck, he was ten years old when he died in 1938.
Fifth Grade Engadine Elementary School Thanks to Margie Beaudoin for the information and pictures of her brother, Herbert Linck, and for making this biography possible.
