MARC CARLSON

1970-1992

Marc was born on March 12, 1970, at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospitable.  He had one sister named Michelle, who was 2 years older than him.  He had a parakeet named Pete, a dog named Wolf, and a rabbit.  His chores were to feed his pets; he couldn't do any more because he had been in a wheelchair since he was nine.  He got to school in a van.  His first day of school was pretty normal.  Along with wearing clothes like jeans, flannel shirts and casual clothes, he took a lot of classes for college preparation: computers, biology, trigonometry, algebra, geometry, chemistry and physics.  His favorite class was biology.  He was the second highest student in his class academically.  Marc received a scholarship for Northern Michigan University because of his outstanding A.C.T. score.

Marc never got in trouble except for one time when he and his friends took matches and played with them; he got grounded for that.  He liked to study, play chess, play with video games, play on the playground and watch his favorite sports teams play.  His favorite teams were the Chicago Bulls and the Dallas Cowboys, and his favorite singer was Debbie Gibson.  He had Detroit Lions and Mark the Bird posters on the walls of his room.  He loved baseball, so he collected baseball cards.  His favorite breakfast cereal was fruit loops.  It cost Marc 25 cents for a candy bar.  His curfew was 10:00 P.M. on week nights.  Marc loved camping and traveling which were family traditions.  He traveled many places like Washington D.C. [the Library of Congress, Lincoln Memorial] Niagara Falls, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Toronto.

The biggest historic event during Marc's lifetime was when the first person landed on the moon.  Marc didn't have any jobs because he died when he was twenty-two.  His favorite memory would have been when his niece, Jessica, was born. In Marc's good old days people would do more, not take drugs, respect the laws, and do more with their families.  Marc enjoyed a good home life, good friends and caring people around him.
