WILLIAM ROSENTHAL 1912-1996
William Rosenthal was born on November 9, 1912, in Denilow Rodmsh, Russia, and died of cancer in 1996. He had one brother and two sisters. Their names were Linda, Elsie, Alvinia, Wanda, Hazel, and Arthur. When he was a baby, William traveled from Russia to Ellis Island (New York), to Akron, Michigan, and then to Engadine, Michigan. When he got older, he went to school until sixth grade in Engadine. The games and sports they played were tag, baseball with a rag, and kick ball with a can. His first paying job was working on the railroad. He started at the age of seventeen and ended at the age of sixty-five. Bill’s favorite family traditions were holidays. In his spare time he liked to ride in his old Ford. The biggest historic events that he lived through were World War 1 and 11 and the Depression (when people had no money). He got married at the age of 26 on November 26, in Engadine, Michigan , to a lady named Angeline Hammermeister. He had three children, two girls and one boy, named Stanley (oldest), Diana (middle), and Brenda (youngest). William will be remembered for always being pleasant and nice. His goals for the future were to give his kids the best life they’ve ever had and the best love they‘ve ever had.
