ARTHUR EDWARDS

1880-1922

Arthur Edwards was born in Ontario, Canada. He moved to Engadine, Michigan, when he was 19 years old. What an historic event! He had 4 brothers and 2 sisters, but one of his sisters moved back to Canada. One of his brothers died, but the rest of his siblings made it. He had to walk to a one room log cabin school where his favorite subject was math. If he would get in trouble, he would get a spanking and would have to do extra work. He liked playing games in the woods with his friends and collecting squirrel tails. His favorite breakfast cereals were oatmeal and cornmeal. He worked for his family when he was a kid.

Arthur’s first paying job was working as a lumberjack, but his main job was a laborer in a sawmill. He was twenty years old when he went on his first date. His favorite tradition was getting together with family. He was really good at hunting, but liked to relax in his spare time. He got married in Newberry when he was thirty-four years old. He was married for seven years before being killed in an accident between two railroad cars. They had three children. One has died, but the rest are living. He has grand children but never lived to see them.

His goals for the future were to live a good life with his wife and kids. He was forty-one years old when he died.
