EMMA BOUCHA

1914-1945

Emma Boucha was born on March 30,1914, in Naubinway, Michigan. She had a twin sister named Erma, another sister named Rita and two brothers, Clarence and Pat. She walked to Engadine Elementary in a skirt or dress. In school she loved to read books out of the library, like novels and true stories. In the morning before school she and her family ate oatmeal. She was really good at being a respectful person, enjoying games like hop scotch, hide and go seek, and kick the can. Skiing and sledding in the winter were also a delight for Emma. She had chores too, keeping the house clean and doing the dishes. Emma also loved working on her finger- nails too and making a salad out of anything.

The biggest historic event for her was the Great Depression. Emma was a waitress, but her goal was to be a beauty operator which, she accomplished after attending school in Manistique. She lived in Detroit for a long time after that. She had cancer and died on September 29,1945, after having a cup of tea. She’ll always be remembered for being a sweet person at all times.
